What a day! Yesterday I had the very serious examination of every nook and cranny of our 6 bathroom, 5 bathroom bed and breakfast. The Canada Select representative was extremely thorough examining each and every mattress and guest space. I went along giving the detail of each room, telling my little anecdotes. I knew it went well but you have to wait until the next day. I didn’t want to use the phone or move out of the house!
When the call came, I tried to remain calm. I wanted to attain at least 3 out of the 5 possible stars and when she said “Three and a half!” I was ecstatic! In order to get a four star rating I would have to get all new mattresses. A five star rating… it just wouldn’t be Lang House.
The entire process meant more to me than just a rating on our business. It was a goal that I had and I achieved. Of course I did not achieve it on my own! Bruce was there spray washing the outside and cleaning inside as well. Holly, my helper was tireless steam cleaning the hardwood floors. And my “Partner in Grime” sent me bouquets of fresh flowers and at the very last hour, the very last hour, she brought me a hair dryer for the newest bathroom! What a sweetie!
A labour of love, this B and B! Now, we need guests! Lots of guests!
